THEATER FOR THE PREVENTION OF VIOLENCE AGAINST WOMEN

Plàudite Teatre, an organization for social transformation through the performing arts and 25 years of experience developing innovative projects with a gender perspective linked to the territory, finds increasingly effective and adaptive solutions. As an ally of the UNESCO Chair for the Prevention of Violence against Women, it presents its actions to celebrate 8M 2023: the launch of the #ACTFEM project, the show Ecofeminism: Path of Peace, and a play for the prevention of violence against young women in nightlife entitled La Festa, a space for all. 8M presents #ACTFEM , an ambitious stage-technological, academic, social activism project that will change the future of a group of young women at risk of dropping out of school. A pilot project that hopes to become an alternative and long-term model that gives these young women the opportunity to continue studying, obtain a high school diploma and participate in the creation of a theater company with a social and feminist perspective. From a pacifist approach and in the key of reparation, Plàudite develops the Ecofeminism project: Camí de Pau , an assembly to give voice to women activists from the Global South who, empowered, take the stage and explain the structural violence they have suffered in their countries of origin and as migrants in Europe. A transformative co-creation project that, from the particularity of each story, highlights the shortcomings of the system while initiating a restorative and cathartic process for the participants. Finally, we cannot stop talking about the theatrical works that arise from the heart of the organization: the theater school. La Festa, un espai para totes is an educational show created and performed by the Jove Platea Theater Group. It aims to raise awareness of the situations of violence that occur in the sphere of nightlife and informal spaces, focusing on behaviors that may seem, a priori, harmless but which are tinged with masculinity and violence.
