THE WORKSHOP
During these two days of applied theatre workshop we will work in a creative and rigorous environment in order to deepen the paths that Community and Social Theatre uses to connect with people.
Each participant, regardless of their previous background, will be able to explore how, through the Performing Arts and the body as an instrument, it is possible to create an atmosphere of safety and trust capable of opening the doors of feeling and emotion, both individual and collective.
COURSE OBJECTIVES
This workshop has a double objective: to train and to care. It provides technique and at the same time hope.
On the one hand, it offers concrete tools for working with highly complex groups, and on the other, it is a space of care and reinforcement for the performing arts professionals who take on this challenge. It is training but also emotional support.
The main objective of this workshop is to understand theatre as a tool for social and community transformation, which at the same time enriches professional practice and nurtures personal motivation.
The specific objectives are:
METHODOLOGY – WORKSHOP STRUCTURE
Theatrical activation and awareness games, trust and non-verbal listening for working with highly complex groups; the use of Theatre in conflict transformation.
Theory: recap of the exercises experienced and how to structure a schedule with a highly complex group. Daily logbook of exercises and discussion of schedules with specific groups.
FACULTY
Angelo Miramonti is a professor of Community Theatre with extensive experience in the use of art for healing and social transformation. He has worked in Colombia, Africa and Europe with communities affected by violence, integrating theatre, poetry and rituals into their processes. He is the founder of the program Arts for Reconciliation and author of publications on theatre, conflict and peace.
PRACTICAL INFORMATION
It is necessary to bring comfortable clothing and a notebook.
