THE WORKSHOP
During these two days of applied theatre workshop we will work in a creative and rigorous environment in order to deepen the paths that Community and Social Theatre uses to connect with people.
Each participant, regardless of their previous background, will be able to explore how, through the Performing Arts and the body as an instrument, it is possible to create an atmosphere of safety and trust capable of opening the doors of feeling and emotion, both individual and collective.
COURSE OBJECTIVES
This workshop has a double objective: to train and to care. It provides technique and at the same time hope.
On the one hand, it offers concrete tools for working with highly complex groups, and on the other, it is a space of care and reinforcement for the performing arts professionals who take on this challenge. It is training but also emotional support.
The main objective of this workshop is to understand theatre as a tool for social and community transformation, which at the same time enriches professional practice and nurtures personal motivation.
The specific objectives are:
- Acquire theatrical tools to work with highly complex groups in a social and community context.
- Explore social and community theatre methodologies that foster participation and inclusion.
- Adapt dynamics to the needs and rhythms of groups.
- Reinforce the motivation and professional identity of community artists.
- Promote self-care and collective trust to prevent burnout and strengthen networking.
METHODOLOGY – WORKSHOP STRUCTURE
Theatrical activation and awareness games, trust and non-verbal listening for working with highly complex groups; the use of Theatre in conflict transformation.
Theory: recap of the exercises experienced and how to structure a schedule with a highly complex group. Daily logbook of exercises and discussion of schedules with specific groups.
FACULTY
Angelo Miramonti is a professor of Community Theatre with extensive experience in the use of art for healing and social transformation. He has worked in Colombia, Africa and Europe with communities affected by violence, integrating theatre, poetry and rituals into their processes. He is the founder of the program Arts for Reconciliation and author of publications on theatre, conflict and peace.

It’s a technological scenic-technological project and social activism with an academic impact that accompanies continuity in the post-compulsory education system. Promoted by Plàudite Teatre, in alliance with other agents. #ACTFEM aims to take advantage of the great potential of the performing arts and digital technology to offer vulnerable young people, especially young women from complex intersectional environments, opportunities that contribute to changing their future prospects. FIRST STAGE: THE PILOT PROJECT
According to the 2022 Active Population Survey (EPA), school dropout rates in Catalonia exceed 17% and especially affect young women who, in situations of intersectionality, are forced to abandon their studies. Plàudite detects this need in the territory and proposes a solution. The pilot project begins in the 2023-24 academic year. The play they co-created is still performing in 2025. (See performances below).

In addition, the aim is to combat gender bias and other prejudices present in the use of digital tools and applications that are powered by AI.The final studi will be publised as #ACTFEM Tool kit The pilot edition of #ACTFEM has been developed at the Jaume Botey and Bellvitge public high schools in l’Hospitalet de Llobregat, (one of the most dense and diverse cities in Europe) during the 2023-2024 academic year. The candidate identification process has been carried out by the counselors of the various public high schools of l’Hospitalet de Llobregat (Barcelona).

Intergenerational Art in Health Barcelona
INTERGENERATIONAL ART IN HEALTH BARCELONA: these are projects that provide innovative responses to the new challenges of society in the 21st century.
These are projects created by Plàudite Teatre, which it promotes in the territory together with Primary Care Centers and Educational Centers since 2018.
They are part of the ART IN HEALTH program that Plàudite Theater carries out through several projects aimed at the emotional, physical and mental health of diverse groups and people framed within the Social Prescription of the Catalan Institute of Health.
Children, young people and the elderly relate through the scenic practice that generates well-being, health and neighborhood.

In the 2022-2023 edition, we decided to connect three neighborhoods of Barcelona through the neighborhood: we link students from three public schools and elderly people linked to the Health Center.
- the Sants neighborhood: Cavall Bernat school and Sants CAP,
- the Sant Antoni neighborhood: Aldana school and CAP Sant Antoni – Manso,
- the La Marina neighborhood of Port: SEAT school and CAP La Marina.
The project concludes with the staging of a joint show: “La Maleta”, full of emotion from the neighborhoods in the Paral·lel 62 stage
WE CELEBRATE THE WORLD THEATER DAY INTERGENERATIONAL 2023
Within the Art Salut Intergenerational project created and carried out by Plaudite Teatre, we celebrate World Theater Day and enjoy moments enjoying the great theater party. On the stage of Cotxeras Borrell. Children from the Barcelona schools: Cavall Bernat, Seat and Aldana, and elderly people linked to the CAP Sants, Marina and Sant Antoni-Manso participate. Mostra l’extrema violència que provoca la rivalitat entre dues famílies, una història que es repeteix al llarg dels segles. Tres dies, cinc morts, una mica per l’atzar però també per la postura irreductible dels senyors de cada família i del governant. La pau buscada pel príncep de Verona s’aconseguirà amb el injust sacrifici del joves causat per la intransigència dels més grans.

Una forta crisi sacseja un país on convivien pacíficament ciutadans de nas roig i de nas verd. La Colla dels Nassis Rojos atribueix la causa de tots els mals als ciutadans de nas verd. A més d’una al·legoria sobre l’ascensió del nazisme a Alemanya, aquesta obra ens acosta a temes com el racisme, l’explotació econòmica o la dominació sobre països i cultures.

Des dels inicis de la humanitat la recerca de la PAU ha estat la fita més difícil d`aconseguir.
La guerra ens deixa ferides que si no es curen bé, pesen com arpons de foc clavats al cor.
Obrim aquestes ferides, obrim les fronteres i així, només així, trobarem la PAU.
L’espectacle està inspirat en els conflictes humans; parteix d’una creació feta a partir d’obres d’art i música.
